Tenderfoot is not medical advice

Everything in this app is **general information about pregnancy and early

childhood**. It is not medical advice, it is not a diagnosis, and it is not a

treatment plan. Using it does not create a doctor–patient relationship between

you and us, or between you and anyone who has contributed to the app.

Your doctor, midwife, health visitor or paediatrician knows you and your child.

We do not. Where their advice and this app differ, follow theirs.

Right now, our content has not been checked by a doctor

We want to be straight with you about this rather than bury it.

Tenderfoot's guidance was drafted from mainstream maternal and child health

sources. It has not yet been reviewed or approved by a qualified clinician.

We are building the review process before we grow, and we intend to have named

paediatricians, an obstetrician and a lactation consultant sign off every item.

Until they have, treat everything here as a starting point for a conversation

with a professional — not as a substitute for one.

If that changes, we will tell you and ask you to read an updated version of this

page. We will not quietly change what you agreed to.

What Tenderfoot will never do

• It will not diagnose you or your child.
• It will not tell you a dose of any prescription medicine.
• It will not tell you to start, stop or change a medicine a doctor prescribed.
• It will not tell you to wait when something needs to be seen.

If you ask it something that needs a clinician, it will say so and tell you to

contact one. That is the app working correctly, not the app being unhelpful.

In an emergency, do not use this app

Call your local emergency number or go to your nearest emergency department.

Some things always need same-day medical attention. Among them: a fever of 38°C

(100.4°F) or above in a baby under three months; any difficulty breathing;

bleeding in pregnancy; a clear reduction in a baby's movements before birth;

signs of dehydration; a head injury; a child losing skills they previously had;

or any swelling of the face, lips or tongue.

Vaccination schedules and dates

Vaccination schedules differ between countries and change over time. We show the

schedule for the country on your account, and we name the authority it came from.

Always confirm dates with your own clinic. Where we do not have a properly

sourced schedule for your country, we show nothing rather than showing you

another country's — that is deliberate.

Products and shopping links

Product suggestions are our editorial opinion. Nothing on the product pages is

paid placement. Links are searches on retailer websites, not endorsements, and we

do not control what those retailers show you or what they charge.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for decisions you make about your own health and your

child's. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or

harm arising from your use of Tenderfoot, except where liability cannot lawfully

be excluded.
